Azazel sighed as his fingers twined around the cup within his hands. He seemed distant, hopeless lost in thought as he watched the ruby liquid swirl within the wine glass. Parties, he'd never liked them. Often times, he'd refuse to go to such events. Something was endlessly boring about dancing. It made girls swoon like children, and Azazel far preferred the wine, laced to his tastes with the copper taste of blood. He sighed as he distantly thought of all the things he could be out doing, of exploring the world, while he rippled the top of the glass. Taking off a glove far more expensive than the material held worth, he dipped a finger into the wine before placing a dab on the lip of the person next to him, smiling like a child as the person he'd just gotten wet when they licked the blood off before giving him a strangely interested look. He just turned his head away from them and frowned.

No, Azazel wasn't the type to flirt around at parties. He preferred to flirt in private; he'd merely had the damning urge to cause a little chaos. Weren't balls supposed to be fun? Dreadful affair, it seemed to be, and Christmas - he'd never liked Christmas either. Jolly fat men everywhere, encouraging people that obesity was all right. Food tasted so much worse when it was fat, a little saltier, and frankly he was more the type with an immense sweet tooth.

Of course, the Vampire Queen's liking of chocolate did make things so much more bearable. She had a fantastic taste in sweets, though he worried if it would have been in bad taste for him to eat too much. Perhaps the next place he'd go traveling to would be Belgium - though he'd been asked to stick around in England, to get married. The idea of monogamy was somewhat stifling. Azazel had found love so many times before, and power was a dish he couldn't pass up swallowing down whole, but ... marriage, the idea was like suffocation, unpleasant and choking.

He'd been the heir to King for centuries, but something within his mind had assured him that his "father" would never die. After all, that was how things were meant to be, eternity - no matter how vast and terrifying. The death of the middle queen and king had been shocking, and for the first time in ages had he actually mourned someone. He almost never frowned unless he was surrounded by people. Traveling and never meeting the same people twice, that was how he preferred to go about things.
